Day 25 Balotta to Luarca +-28km’s

The Del Norte showed its true colours again today. This time it was forests and amazing sea views. I left early and this allowed me to have the trail to the beach through the forests all alone. A very special morning contemplating a few much needed changes in my life. I met a French lady Urina and we walked together for a short while but I was keen to walk alone today so I walked ahead of her. As luck would have it the Priest was at the San Miguel church in Canero, so I stepped inside took a pic and he gave me a sello for my Pilgrim passport. Most churches are sadly closed. Now I’m in the quaint town of Luarca for the night. I don’t want to leave, it’s so beautiful here.

The route took me through Tablizo, Cadavedo, Villademoros, San Cristóbal, Queruás, Canero, Baricia before arriving Luarca.

Starting out at Balotta this morning.

The asphalt road was short lived. The trail took me straight to the beach before climbing up to Tablizo.

Forest trails

Serious mud.

Narrow and wet after the rain last night.

You have to watch where you walk.

Even the cattle have views.

Urina in front of me.

San Cristóbal

Interesting house in Queruás

I could have stopped at the De Cueva beach.

Door of the day.

The locals in Baricia supporting Del Norte.
