Day 24 Cudillero to Balotta +-28km’s
This morning was all about respecting your fellow Pilgrim. It’s not my idea of fun when you’re in an Albergue and it’s only two people. I prefer 3 or more to help make decisions. An elderly Spanish man shared the dorm with me. He’s cycling the Camino and only gets up at 8am. That means getting up between 5am and 6am would be a problem. So I packed last night, fortunately I woke up before the alarm and slipped out quietly. I ended doing foot prep and some packing in the garden. Then I found some roses and thought I’ll start smelling the roses early.
The route today was beautiful walking through forests and small hamlets. There were many uphills and downhills in the forests and a few streams to cross. There were no places to stop for coffee or food for the first 12km’s, that was tough despite having snacks with me. Fortunately, a local had a vending machine and I managed to at least find 500ml’s of Coke.
The route took me through El Penedo, El Rellayo, Mumayor, Soto de Luiña, Albuerne, Novellana, Castaneres, Santa Marina and finally checked in at Casa Fernando III in Balotta. I’m way too tired to write more today.
