Day 9 Pobeña to Islares +-28km’s
It all started really early this morning as some people feel it’s necessary to get up at 5am. The Albergue only opens at 6am. I guess it’s summer and an early start is welcome in this heat. I did not enjoy staying at the Albergue.
I walked up a long flight of 100 steps to get onto the trail. A beautiful sunrise awaited on the trail to Ontón. Sadly it was all road walking for 4.6km’s to Miõno. Things improved somewhat going to Castro Urdiales, a beautiful town. We had some bush whacking along the coast to Islares to avoid the roads, thanks to a local pointing the way. Maps.me to the rescue as we realised the path disappeared. A wonderful day on the Camino Del Norte with a little added adventure.
