Day 10 Islares to Santoña +-29km’s
We knew a long day lay ahead as we booked at the Albergue in Santoña.
As we left Islares it looked like the heavens were going open. Thunder and lightning around for about 10mins. It was somewhat flat walking until Rioseco. Then the Del Norte uphills hit us again from La Magdalena to Hazas. At least we managed a long break at Hazas to replenish the lost energy.
Then the decision was made to take the coastal path over more mountains to Laredo.
I’m so thankful we did it as the views were spectacular. Fortunately, we had not rain.
Starting off on the road.
We did not take the logging path this time.
