Fisterra/Muxía Day 5 Fisterra to Muxía +-29km’s

Today’s Camino was probably one of my favourite Camino’s ever. It’s such a beautiful route from Fisterra to Muxía. It was awesome walking with my partner Robert and good friend Pam. I’m so pleased we walked from Fisterra and not the other way around. Muxía is my place to calm down.  Early morning leaving Fisterra. Sunrise  Rob taking pics on the way out of Fisterra. Igrexa de San Martiño. The stunning views. Buxán Enjoying the path. Man with his donkey heading to Muxía. Fisterra or Muxía take your pic. Door of the day. A short Hill. The long decline to Muxía. Then the ocean showed its beauty. The Muxiana certificate. Santuario Nosa Señora da Barca The zero km marker. Pam chilling after a long day of walking.

Fisterra/Muxía Day 4 Hospital to Fisterra +-14km’s

The morning started with rain. We walked from the Albergue to the bar, an instant soaking. Many Pilgrims stopped at the O Casteliño bar as it’s the last bar for 15km’s. The rain continued and we decided to avoid the 300 metre drop to the town of Cee and opted for a taxi for 6 people. We were dropped off at Cee and enjoyed some coffee before setting off in the rain to complete the last 14 km’s to Fisterra. A wet morning in Hospital. Balu from Hungary and Robert in Corcubión Neria. The gloomy view. We were hoping for sunshine. Door of the day. Some forest walking. Wet wet and more wet. The trail to Fisterra. The visit to the 0km mark and Lighthouse.

Fisterra/Muxía Day 3 Santa Mariña to Hospital +-18km’s

Breakfast started off the way I like it. It’s called  a French Omelette. It’s what I miss from home. We started off at the 48.6 km way-mark. I was thinking to myself that this Camino will be over very quickly. The weather looked somewhat threatening, we fortunately avoided the rain for most of the day. The last 8km’s were a slightly different story. Ponchos on, head down and walk on. At least it was a cool day and not a very long one. Breakfast in Santa Mariña  On The Way. Robert ahead of me. Pam climbing a steep hill. Down the hill we go. Door of the day. Moo Entering Dumbría. Olveiroa In the rain going to Logoso. At the town called Hospital, glad the day is over.

Fisterra/Muxía Day 2 Negreira to Santa Mariña

The rain in Spain falls mainly in Galicia. A gloomy morning of drizzle was the order of the day. I overslept and woke up later than planned, I guess that was a good thing as clearly I needed 8hrs of sleep. I have to admit, I’m enjoying this route with all the beautiful Galician forests. Today they were rain forests, clearly not lacking water with all the Tree Ferns. The route took us through Zas, O Rapote, A Peña, Portocamiño, Vilaserío, Cornado and Maroñas and finally checked in at Albergue Casa Pepa in Santa Mariña a small farming village. Leaving Logrosa A little rain showing its beauty. Negreira  Door of the day. Counting down again. A large spider web. The forests near Zas. Flower Rob walking on the Camino. Horreo in Maroñas Close to our Albergue.
